Two-Component Waterborne Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer
Based on Beckopox® EP 2392w/70MP & Beckopox VEH 2849w/80WA
REC18041 is a starting-point formulation for a two-component (2K), water-reducible epoxy zinc-dust (zinc-rich) anticorrosive primer. It pairs the allnex Beckopox® EP 2392w/70MP waterborne epoxy resin with the Beckopox VEH 2849w/80WA amine hardener to deliver a low-VOC, high zinc-loaded primer for industrial corrosion protection on steel.

Mixing ratio is Part A : Part B = 100 : 1.36 by weight. Combine the two components only shortly before application.
Processing
- Prepare the binder base (Component A) Mix Beckopox® EP 2392w/70MP with Additol® VXW 6208/60 and Luvotix P 25X, then add methoxypropanol. Mix for 3–5 minutes.
- Disperse the zinc pigment Add the Fine Zinc Powder and Sylosiv A3 step by step, then disperse well for approx. 10–15 minutes at 3–4 m/s. The dispersing temperature should reach max. 40 °C.
- Combine the two components and adjust Mix Component A and Component B (Beckopox VEH 2849w/80WA) shortly before processing and adjust the viscosity with water.
